Fashion explodes this fall.
It goes above and beyond — a rush to extremes, if you will. I know, it is hard to believe that early fall collections are arriving in stores when it is still 100 degrees outside in many parts of the U.S. Nevertheless they are and key pre-fall trends follow:
Leather, in multiple colors, is the number one trend transitioning from end of summer into the fall season this year. It can be found as almost every article of clothing.
Burgundy is the most dominant color for fall and considered to be the new black, and all shades of green — especially emerald green — was abundant as well. And black combined with blue is the “it”combination for fall.
Peplums can be defined by a short overskirt or ruffle attached at the waistline of a jacket, blouse or dress. A peplum highlights waist definition and can help to conceal a full abdomen or broad hip.
Metallic is seen in a variety of accents and details from silver studs to cap toe shoes. Metallics also appeared as fabrics for blouses, jackets, skirts, dresses and coats.
Mismatched prints and fabrics– Graphics, geometrics, black and whites and vivid colors are paired with a matching bottom or with different fabrics for a mismatched look, if you are so inclined.
Brooches (or pins like your mother or grandmother wore) add newness and a cluster of them adds drama.
A flat shoe that looks like a smoking slipper but is actually a luxury loafer is flat-out chic.
Always be selective. Just because something is in style for the season does not necessarily mean it will be flattering for you.
