PREVIEW of Fashion Trends

FASHION TRENDS FOR THE NEW SEASON
Styles are reminiscent of the late 70’s and early 80’s with: bell bottomscapes; overlay skirts from brocade to denim; extravagant flowing golden sheaths; andromanticized voluminous bows for the bodice.Call them retro couture, period pieces or vintage inspired, the looks are playful, fluid and easy to wear.
Classic Blue is Pantone’s color of the year and is found in every article of clothing.

However vibrant neon shades are also rampant.

Top jewelry trends include the use of, natural materials like shell, stone, raffia, and wood.

Putting female sexuality front and center, bra tops from knit to snakeskin are extremely popular. If selecting this new craze, wear with flat abs and a high waisted pant or skirt.

Shorts — (remember hot pants?) found in every material, color and shape provide ample ability to move about freely. If this is not a good style for you, bermuda shorts are frequently found to wear alone or as the bottom component of a suit!

Using recycled fabrics in creative ways is another trend.

The trench coat remains the most popular topper for spring with artful details like crystal trim and bias draping.

Lots of crochet, fringe, artful fabric draping, puff sleeves and disco collars (pronounced wide and pointed) are also popular.

Acquiring a couple of new pieces each season that work with what you already own is a great way to freshen your wardrobe without breaking the bank. If you haven’t overhauled your closet in a while, the new year is a great time to do that. Partnering with a skilled stylist that knows what should stay and what should go is a wise investment. A fresh set of expert eyes can also help you save time and money shopping as adding just the right things is easier when you have a focused shopping list that matches your style and budget. How Long To Keep Makeup

FDA’S RECOMMENDATIONS ON WHEN TO TOSS COSMETIC PRODUCTS
It is recommended that you wash your hands before applying makeup. The FDA recommends tossing these products after owning them for this long:
  • Mascara — between 2-4 months
  • Pencil eyeliner — 2 years
  • Liquid or gel eyeliner –3 months
  • Liquid face makeup — 6 months
  • Cream compact foundation — 18 months
  • Concealers — 12-18 months
  • Powders (including blushes, bronzers and eye shadows ) — 2 years
  • Cream shadows and blushes — 12-18 months
  • Lipstick and lip liner — one year
  • Lip gloss — 18 -24 months
  • Skin products in pump bottles — 6 months

A new study done by the FDA found that up to 90% of makeup products are contaminated with super bugs. Hanging on to products well past their expiration dates risks applying bacteria to your face every day.

Fall 2019 Fashion

FALL 2019: A SNEAK PREVIEW OF SOME OF THE HOTTEST TRENDS
There are those of us who cannot wait for fall and others who are soaking up every last second of summer. Some reinvent themselves every season; others may add a piece or two to their wardrobes. Wherever you may be on the scale, be judicious in selecting new pieces.

Remember that just because something is new and fashionable does not mean it works with your body type or personal style expression. So choose carefully either on your own or with my assistance. [email protected]

For the most part, the Fall 2019 season was “sexier and more romantic” than we’ve seen in a while.

Well Suited Tailoring was a key message of the season with emphasis on trousers –wide and comfortable –with a matching blazer. It signifies classic professionalism. Cropped gray trousers were seen with black, thick-soled wingtips.
Skirt or Dress Over Pants –narrow or wide — is a look on the rise.
Pleat Front Pants with High Waists and Tapered Legs create a strong silhouette accented with a boyish blazer and knee-high boots.
Leading Ladies The runways were full of romantic, voluminous dresses. Many were full-skirted, caped and/or had dramatic sleeves.By the same token, party dresses are also supershort, super-tight and very ruched.
Wild Life Whether woven, embossed or embroidered, animal prints are “spot” on.
Greek Dressing Classical draping, more often than not, is used in a skin- tight revealing way.
Winging It Inspired by the 1980’s, shoulders and sleeves are dramatic.
The biggest color trends for Fall are far from neutral. Shocking pink, magenta, violet, royal and marine blue, rich greens – both kelly and yellow greens – canary yellow, and bright red abound.
High-Neck Ruffles Turtlenecks are getting a major update — in Victorian form. Think ruffles, romantic lace, and floral prints that add a little extra flair
Big handbags are dominant.
The rise of the Poncho light enough to be worn in a warm breeze but functional enough to take on a chill is everywhere and at every price point.
Denim is on the wane but still a popular trend.
Plaids, Tartans and Checks are experiencing a renaissance.
